The Fayette Art Museum in Fayette, AL, was established in 1969 with an initial endowment of over 2,600 pieces from the personal collection and work of Fayette native Ms. Lois Wilson. Today, the museum boasts a permanent collection of over 4,000 pieces, including works by locally known artists as well as internationally recognized names, and is the sponsor of the longest continually running art festival in the state of Alabama.
Located in the Fayette Civic Center, the museum offers a rotating display of over 500 running feet of display space on the main floor, as well as six folk art galleries downstairs. With its rich variety of artworks and contributions to the cultural enrichment of the city, the Fayette Art Museum has become an icon of Fayette pride in its arts and a recognized regional attraction.
