General Rubber & Plastics, Inc was founded in 1948 in Louisville, Kentucky. General Rubber & Plastics, Inc is one of the largest industrial distributing companies in the state of Kentucky. Since 1948, 10 other locations have been added to the growing organization throughout the state, Indiana, Tennessee, Alabama, and Texas. There are two home offices for General Rubber & Plastics ; one in Louisville and the other in Lexington. The Lexington Branch was started in 1978. Since opening its doors in 1978, General Rubber & Plastics, Inc has expanded within Kentucky with physical locations in London and Florence. In July of 2003, the company opened a facility in Huntsville, Alabama. The fifth location was opened in San Antonio, Texas in the spring of 2006.
