The largest single division within the Cullman County Sheriff's Office is the patrol division. Its patrol division is divided into four separate shifts, which consist of nearly 25 patrol deputies, four shift sergeants and a K-9 deputy. A patrol deputy generally handles calls for law enforcement assistance. In the jail division, the existing jail began its service to Cullman County, Ala., in 1964. When criminal activity is reported, the incident/offense report is sent to the supervisor of the criminal investigative division, which reviews the report and determines if additional follow-up investigation is required and to whom it should be assigned. A drug unit, administration and special operations round out the office s divisions. Cullman County Sheriff's Office is located in Cullman, Ala.
