Founded in 1942, Marshall-Dekalb Electric Cooperative is a nonprofit organization that provides electrical services for residential, industrial and commercial applications. It serves the residents of Marshall, DeKalb and Etowah counties in Alabama. The cooperative has more than 18,000 members and operates over 1,200 miles of power lines. It offers pole installation, engineering, construction, online bill payment and underground services. The cooperative additionally provides meter reading, testing and installation services. Marshall-Dekalb Electric Cooperative is a member of the Tennessee Valley Public Power Association and the Tennessee Valley Authority.
