Specialties
Dr. Nichols has extensive experience in diagnosing and treating eye disease as well as caring for the routine vision needs of family members of all ages. Also, Chelsea Eye Care proudly participates in InfantSee which is a no-cost program to all parents of infants ages 6-12 months to ensure their children are given a thorough eye health examination that goes far beyond the screenings the pediatrician has time to do with each child. In addition to our extensive frame and lens selection, we offer specialty eyewear including the following: safety eyewear by Wiley X for our military, police, motorcyclists, and industrial workers; sports eyewear by Liberty Sport for athletes of all ages; soft, safe eyewear by Miraflex for very young children, special needs patients, and rough little boys; and prescription sunwear by Costa Del Mar and Maui Jim. Chelsea Eye Care also has a large number of GP contact lens wearers including those with both hard to fit prescriptions and corneal conditions.
History
Chelsea Eye Care began caring for the needs of Chelsea's residents in 2002. From the beginning, it was the goal of CEC to provide quality vision care services to the entire family at a cost that is appropriate for any budget. Throughout the changes of the last decade, CEC has continued to invest in the community by offering vision screenings and participating in health fairs, school career days, Christmas parades, community fundraising, and athletic support for the area schools. When Dr. Hartley Nichols acquired complete ownership of Chelsea Eye Care in July 2012, she immediately embraced these proud traditions and further expanded them with a deep desire to touch the lives of all those in Chelsea and the surrounding communities.
