Founded in 1987, BRATS, also known as the Baldwin Rural Area Transportation System, serves the citizens of Baldwin County in Alabama. It offers a variety of public transportation solutions for individuals and businesses throughout Baldwin County. The department provides services under various schedules, including central transfer, Dial-A-Ride, work route, historic ride and round trip. It additionally offers transportation services to patients for kidney dialysis, physical therapy and cancer treatment. The department provides outing trips for educators and groups to several historical places. It also offers advertising and sign placement services. BRATS is a part of the government of Baldwin County, which also operates highway, traffic control, building inspection and solid waste departments.
