Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind, founded in 1858, provides various educational and service programs for children and adults who are deaf, blind and have multiple disabilities. AIDB has various centers for providing educational and rehabilitation services, including the Alabama School for the Blind, Helen Keller School of Alabama, Alabama School for the Deaf, E. H. Gentry Technical Facility and the Alabama Industries for the Blind. Its centers offer accredited residential programs and the E.H. Gentry Technical Facility is an accredited two-year technical school for adults who are deaf, blind and have multiple disabilities. AIDB operates regional centers in Auburn, Birmingham, Dothan, Huntsville, Mobile, Montgomery, Talladega, Tuscaloosa and Tuscumbia, Ala.
