Originally designed as a neighborhood theater, the Rialto Theatre was built in 1923-1924 to plans by Montreal architect Raoul Gariépy. The facade of the Beaux Arts style, inspired by that of the Paris Opera. Inside, neo-baroque style, has a rich design by Emmanuel Briffa. Rialto Theatre was designated as a historic monument by the city of Montreal in 1988 by the Quebec government in 1990, and also as Canada's national historic site in 1993. An exceptional place to see a show or hold a major event.
