The Cobourg & Area Museum, formerly the Sifton-Cook Heritage Centre, first opened to the public in 2012 in what may be Cobourg's oldest building. Exhibits, videos and operating Model Railways, indoors and out, tell the story of our Town's history. The 2024 exhibition is “Our Community - Our Stories”, Immigration to Northumberland County - from the settlement of Alderville near Rice Lake to recent arrivals to Cobourg. The history of local railways is also featured. The Centre is located at Durham & Orr Streets, just 3 blocks west of historic Victoria Hall. No charge for admission! LAST DAY OPEN IN 2024 IS OCTOBER 14.
